Is this a newly purchased camera module, or has this module worked before? One thing to check again - have you connected the cable the right way round on both the Pi 5 board and the camera board?

First of all, thank you for your reply. Actually, I bought this camera around 3 months ago. But, I never used it until last week which I opened the box and while connecting the camera to Pi 5, I realized that I need to order a different camera cable.
Yesterday, I got my new cable and then I connected the camera to Pi 5 for the first time.

Yes, I do have connected the cable the right way on both sides. To make sure, I tested a wrong way connection, and in this case a black screen shows up and disappears very soon. However, when the connections are correct, a permanent black screen shows up until I close the window.
