I am having a similar issue plugging a mouse in.

lsub gives me

I plugged in two different verified working mice, with the same result: nothing.

FWIW, the hub is https://thepihut.com/products/usb-mini- ... -micro-usb from Pihut. The switch is set to on.

What am I doing wrong? I suspect it's something bloody obvious.

That hub is the one in the ZeroW itself. Your PiHut one is not recognised. You do have it plugged in to the microUSB socket nearest to the miniHDMI socket?

Mice usually have a full size USB plug. How how you connecting to the ZeroW's microUSB socket?
