Maybe nitpicking but still worth mentioning.I'm not sure the length of the traces matters much since the top adapter carries those signals from the connector clear to the other end of the board (see pic above).
The length of the traces matters a bit as the signal degrades (voltage differential lowers with length). So it's likely that the error rate will grow on longer pairs of flat cable.
But what does matter very much is that all pairs length need to be as close as possible. So all the signal and clock timings stays within the acceptable tolerance. For that reason is recommended to use intended flat cable. Well, if proper care was taken in design and verification phase that is.
