Beginners • labwc update failure

I am a complete and total beginner, am 74 years old and have no real understanding of computers, not being able to to purchase a normal computer for windows 11 I had to resort to a simpler less expensive solution - hence - I am using a raspberry pi5 as my main internet access and the LABWC update has failed completely going to a black page with a winking cursor top left. I am using my old windows 10 computer now over 10 years old on which I successfully installed Ubuntu, just how long this old thing will continue to function I don't know.

Can somebody please explain to me how to recover my raspberry pi5?
