@BillTodd, thanks from me too. Many traders who are not into electronics themselves simply cut-and-paste stuff and SSD1306 appears far too often. It has become the default moniker for such small OLED panels -- something they put in no matter it's correct or not. In fact, SSD1322 is new to me too -- I don't recall this chip ever mentioned when browsing for small OLED panels.

It's a bit strange, I wonder if they will put a 480x128 capable driver chip to run the more common monochrome blue/white 128x64 OLED. Most of the cheap ones are not advertised as grayscale capable. A Google search for "oled 1.3 inch 128 64" and a quick glance turns up only SH1106.
Well, I'll let @arduinojavier4 try things out. I'd want to know the outcome too, as I have a few 1602 LCDs over 10 years old and the LCD material is deteriorating, so I have an interest in moving to common OLED displays.
