I should open a charity shop for all these "destroyed" Picos.
You just need to install MicroPython.
For that you can go in Tools/Options ... then Interpreter tab, select MicroPython (Raspberry Pi Pico), then at the bottom 'Install or Update MicroPython' ... there you can see Target ... and some options.
Or you can download the appropriate uf2 file from MicroPython site and copy that one to the drive:

It is important to know/say what variant of Pico do you have.
This means your Pico is fine, it is already in BOOTSEL mode because it is 'empty', the LED is not supposed to be lit right now.Windows recognized it as a USB mass storage device and created a drive for it.
