Unless you specific all manual controls (--awbgains, --shutter, --gain), the AWB/AGC will take a small number of frames to converge before returning out the first frame that is fully usable. This is why you may need to send extra pulses to generate exactly 4 output frames.The 4 pulses packet had to be sent at least 3 times for the rpicam-vid command to be completed.
Unfortunately there is no programmatic way to disable the timeout right now, so the config file is the only option. I would like to see this set through controls eventually though. I will send a proposal to the libcamera team about this.I would also like to ask, is there no way to bypass the prefix environment variable "LIBCAMERA_RPI_CONFIG_FILE=/home/RPI/Cam/timeout.yaml" on the Pi5?
