UPDATE!
I got the cable and tried it. The video signal does work. Sadly there is no sound. I don't know why but there just isn't. The output is not RGB but composite. So there is no benefit to using it instead of the actual composite jack on the pi.
Since it outputs composite I would probably have to tweak the sound settings to work through composite on the pi but seeing as the signal goes from the HDMI port that probably won't do much.
